Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Director of Philanthropy to lead and expand their fundraising initiatives. This individual will drive efforts to secure resources that support transformative cancer research and health equity programs. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in funding innovative projects while building relationships across both U.S. and international philanthropic sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of strategic fundraising plans to attract major donors and secure critical funding
• Cultivate and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners, both in the U.S. and internationally
• Prepare compelling proposals and impact reports to highlight the organization's mission and achievements
• Work alongside the team to plan and execute major events, including an Annual Benefit Gala
• Design and implement strategies for donor recognition and retention
• Engage with key stakeholders within both American and international philanthropic communities to build lasting partnerships

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in nonprofit development, corporate philanthropy, or fundraising
• Proven track record of securing significant contributions (5- and 6-figure gifts)
• Ability to bridge international partnerships and navigate cross-cultural relationships
• Italian language proficiency is required
• Strong understanding of Italian culture, business protocols, and philanthropic practices
• Strategic thinker with the ability to execute on key initiatives
• Passion for scientific advancement and improving community health access
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
