CHLA requires a primary residence in California prior to start date.** **Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals and technical requirements. This role involves leading the architectural design, documentation, and governance of cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. The Cloud Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and application development, to create and maintain a robust cloud environment. This position demands a deep understanding of cloud technologies, architectural principles, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency in the organization's cloud strategy. **Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** - Required Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure management, systems architecture, or a closely related field. - Demonstrated leadership in designing and managing cloud architecture in complex enterprise environments. - Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud. - Deep understanding of cloud architectural principles, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST). - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). - Strong experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD). - Solid knowledge of system administration, networking, and disaster recovery planning. - Experience conducting security audits, assessments, and supporting regulatory compliance initiatives. - Proven ability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical strategy. - Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents outside regular business hours. - Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with emerging technologies and cloud trends. - Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. - Experience working in a large enterprise or academic medical center environment is highly desirable. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and a collaborative engineering culture. **Education/Licensure/Certification:** Required - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. - Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect. - Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer. **Pay Scale Information** USD $116,189.00 - USD $199,181.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
