Systems/Network Engineer-On Site

 

Job description

We are seeking a Systems/Network Engineer with a diversified skillset to join the development and
operation efforts of our Datacenter. You will contribute toward the implementation, operations, and support of virtualization and network technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking protocols, and Linux administration.

Qualifications:

 

• 5+ years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux administration
• Willingness to learn and self-develop on unfamiliar topics
• Knowledge of SELINUX, Firewalld, IPtables
• Support and maintain web-related hosting services (cPanel, SQL, SMTP Relays, DNS)
• Proficiency with network concepts and protocols (TCP, UDP, DHCP, VLANS, DNS,
  VLAN, VPN, SIP/RTP)
• Ability to troubleshoot network communication issues at the packet level
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Powershell)
• Background in virtualization technologies and backup processes (VMware, KVM)
• Experience with network security technologies (NGFW, IPS, Sophos, Fortinet)
• Knowledge of information security related technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong ability to work in a team environment
• Self-starter with high energy to meet the needs of a demanding business and IT
  environment
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework and change management processes
• Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and IT staff regarding
  virtualization and networking issues.
• Support 24/7 production systems - Requires on-call availability
• Implement, administrate, and document server systems for new and existing clients
• Manage patching and reboot schedules for mission-critical Windows and Linux systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system or performance issues for clients and datacenter
  Systems.
• Maintain client Haproxy load balancers on Red Hat-based distributions Alma/Rocky
• Monitor and optimize the performance of virtualized networks. This involves identifying
  bottlenecks, optimizing configurations, and ensuring the network meets performance
• Deploy and manage VPN solutions for clients
• Assist with expansion of infrastructure resources to meet organizational requirements
• Collaborate with NOC team members to improve monitoring, proactive response, and
  ongoing projects

Highly Desirable

 

• CCNA
• LFCS, RHCSA, Linux+
• Storage experience (TrueNas, Ceph, NVME/TCP)
• KVM experience
