Job Description

Job Duties

The Operations Manager is an integral part of the operations leadership team and has responsibility for managing teams of operations employees and for ensuring efficient operations.

  • Directly supervises performance of employees in the market
  • Communicate with employees and customers as needed to identify and resolve delivery issues
  • Provides back-up coverage for delivery routes as needed
  • Formulates and applies disciplinary action as needed to address employee issues
  • Assists in daily routine and route management
  • Completes various administrative tasks, including, but not limited to invoice review and approval, administration of driver qualification files and related information, tasks related to the company’s drug and alcohol program, timecard management and approval and required payroll processes
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance/productivity and customer experience of the department
  • Uses strong leadership skills to communicate with and motivate employees
  • Assists in setting targets and tracking KPIs
  • Accountability for set goals, including those relating to operational performance, safety and regulatory standards
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and implementation in partnership with other members of leadership
  • Ensures proper training of assigned personnel
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with employees and customers to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the Eagle Rock policies and procedures.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Some college education preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience managing a team of employees required
  • Previous commercial driving and/or delivery experience is preferred
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL and DOT medical card is preferred

  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and be able to meet company insurability standards

Physical Demands And Requirements

  • Requires frequent reaching, pulling, twisting, bending, and/or stooping
  • Requires the ability to sit, walk or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently lifts items weighing up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Occasionally requires the ability to lift over 70 lbs. (with or without assistance)
  • Must be capable of pushing or pulling loads weighing up to 300 lbs.

Environmental Conditions and Temperament

  • Works frequently in a standard office environment, adequately heated and cooled
  • Works frequently in a warehouse environment, including refrigerated areas
  • Works frequently inside and outside of customer accounts and is exposed to a variety of weather conditions

The history of Eagle Rock Distributing Company goes all the way back the Prohibition Era, selling non-alcoholic beer and Canada Dry Ginger Ale. Quite a bit has changed since then and today we distribute a wide-array of premium and craft beers, cider, import beers, wines, spirits, as well as non-alcoholic beverages and local products out of our locations in Georgia and Colorado. One thing that hasn't changed since our start in 1930, however, is our unwavering commitment to our employees and loyal customers.

Eagle Rock entered the Colorado market in late-2020, assuming distribution operations for Anheuser-Busch products across the state. Today, we have over 500 employees in the state, operating out of 7 locations, and continue to welcome new positions to support our growth in the state.

Compensation, Benefits And Application Window

Compensation range: $60,000-$10,000 per year + 10% PFP potential

(Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon route, geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level)
