About Girls Preparatory School
The mission of Girls Preparatory School (GPS) is to inspire each girl to lead a life of integrity and purpose by engaging her mind, cultivating her strengths, and nurturing her self-confidence and respect for others. Currently, 130 faculty and staff serve approximately 500 girls in grades 6-12 with a college preparatory curriculum that includes a full complement of courses in the humanities, STEM, the arts, and more, as well as a rich and varied cocurricular program.
GPS prioritizes healthy connections and relationships, fostering a culture where each girl is known, heard, and empowered to use her voice. This culture of acceptance and belonging nurtures and lifts her up in mind, body, and spirit so that she can find her place and discover her potential with confidence and joy for dynamic engagement in a rapidly changing world.

Position Summary
Girls Preparatory School seeks a passionate coaching professional who will lead our competitive basketball program and serve as the Head Varsity Coach. In order for the position to be full-time, it will be combined with another vacant full-time role at the school that aligns with the candidate’s skill set. Current opportunities include a role in the admissions office , Athletics Operations & Social Media Coordinator , Art Teacher, IT Administrator, Science Teacher, and possibly other positions that will be added to our careers page as they become available. We welcome applications from qualified basketball coaches with an array of experiences that are transferable to an independent school setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
As a member of the athletic department, the ideal candidate will show the ability to provide leadership, organization, and supervision for the entire sixth- through 12th-grade basketball program in a manner that aligns with the mission of the broader athletic program at GPS. This individual will be responsible for providing direction, instruction, and supervision to female student athletes so they achieve a high level of skill and an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
