Job Description

Rittal Perforex CNC operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, specifically Rittal Perforex machines and HAAS Router Mill, used in the manufacturing process of enclosures and control cabinets. The primary duties include setting up, operating, and maintaining the CNC machines to produce accurate and high-quality components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Along with light programming and importing of files.

  • Machine Setup: Prepare the CNC machine for operation by loading the appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials. Ensure that the machine is calibrated and programmed correctly.
  • Programming: Input the necessary parameters into the CNC machine, including cutting speeds, tool paths, and dimensions, based on engineering drawings and specifications. Import dimensions and features from 2D AutoCAD and 3d Solidworks files.
  • Operation: Monitor the CNC machine during operation to ensure that it is producing parts within tolerances and quality standards. Make adjustments to the machine settings as needed to optimize production. Recover tool paths and broken tooling.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, completeness, and quality. Identify and address any issues or defects in the machining process.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the CNC machine, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating the CNC machine and working in the manufacturing environment. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Cleanliness: maintain clean organized workspace free of debris, chips and hazards. Area must be cleaned at the end of each shift.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, tool usage, and quality inspection results.
  • Maintain tooling inventory and order consumables through purchasing dept as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience operating CNC machines, preferably Rittal Perforex machines, in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming languages, such as G-code.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Solidworks modeling experience.
  • AutoCAD / HSM Works experience.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Climate-controlled, industrial settings with noise, dust, and fumes, depending on the type of materials being used.
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.


SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wear correct PPE equipment.
  • Fully understand and set up machine guards.
