Job Description

Videographer

tarte cosmetics is seeking an experienced, full time in-house Videographer + Editor to produce creative & eye-catching content across a broad range of product launches, campaigns, and internal communications. The role is responsible for filming and editing innovative visual assets that will be used across e-commerce, broadcast, digital & social media platforms and more. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of visual storytelling to maintain the brand's identity across all motion assets. To ensure success, you should be willing to collaborate with various departments cross-functionally, work efficiently, and professionally share creative concepts/ideas.

 

The role entails high attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines while exhibiting strong editing skills. This role also flexibility, allowing for occasional work-from-home days where shoots are not scheduled, if pre-production and editing can be handled remotely. This ideal person reports directly to the VP of Brand + Content and the Director of Creative Content Production. 

  • Technical Expertise: Operate and maintain a variety of camera formats, including DSLR, mirrorless, cinema cameras, and professional video cameras such as ARRI, RED, Canon C-series, Sony FS-series, and Blackmagic. Ensure proper lighting, sound, and camera settings are used to achieve the best possible video quality.
  • Editing and Post-Production: Use industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, and other relevant tools to edit footage, color grade, add special effects, and ensure final videos are polished and professional. Sound design is a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to align to the brand identity pillars and provide consistency through video and graphic styling - treatments, fonts, layout, etc.
  • Film & edit highly produced motion assets for domestic and global use
  • Opportunity to create organic content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube & more
  • Collaborate with the Director of Production to create storyboards from concept to delivery
  • Excellent time management skills to meet priorities and deadlines
  • Assist in file organization and sharing across teams and stakeholders
  • Proactively share new graphic concepts/ideas 
  • Can bring forward new video technology and innovative capture styles to our equipped video studio in NYC HQ 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5+ year's experience in video editing
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with special emphasis in Premiere, After Effects, and Da Vinci 
  • Experience in finding and collecting relevant archival footage and material
  • Experience working with equipment for off-site photoshoots, GoPro or similar. Drone experience is a plus!
  • Creative drive to explore brand new approaches to video storytelling such as 3D renderings/animations or AI for product photos/videos.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and logical story construction with an eye for visual communication
  • Strong written and visual communication skills and the ability to collaborate across various departments
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly
