JOB DETAILS: 
  • Master the art of shipping and receiving.
  • Cultivate efficient warehousing and order fulfillment practices.
  • Take pride in accurate inventory control and meticulous records management.
  • Lead with precision in dispatching operations.
  • Innovate transport schedules, methods, and routes.
  • Analyze and project transportation costs responsibly.
  • Navigate customs clearances and permits with expertise.
  • Maintain, load, pack, and drive vehicles with care and competence.
  • Foster strong partnerships with external transport providers, from fuel suppliers to trucking companies.
  • Secure and manage fleet vehicles, driving progress forward.


KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily safety and operations of delivery supervisors and staff.
  • Ensure delivery activities run smoothly, following standard procedures and providing safe and effective service to customers.
  • Make sure Delivery Associates follow local, state, and federal regulations (like DOT and OSHA) and keep electronic logs accurate and up to date.
  • Manage work hours, travel, fuel, and supplies while staying within budget; create work schedules as needed.
  • Oversee the selection and purchase of company assets for the delivery department and arrange for repairs when necessary.
  • Check daily routing to meet key goals for performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Suggest ways to improve efficiency and help implement delivery changes.
  • Review how delivery services are used to increase profitability.
  • Work with sales and marketing to solve customer delivery issues and visit locations to help address concerns.


REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and/or training; 
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Two or Four year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred. 


CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License meeting Company standards preferred.
  • Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program.
  • HazMat and Doubles Certification preferred.
