Sustainability Reporting Principal Accountant

The role of Sustainability Reporting Principal Accountant will support the company’s Sustainability Reporting team by ensuring that the company is positioned to comply with sustainability reporting regulatory requirements (EU CSRD, ISSB, SEC, etc.) and voluntary sustainability reporting. This position will support the company’s efforts to establish and maintain a strong control environment for sustainability reporting.

Job Duties

  • Interpret and apply company policy and controls as it relates to sustainability reporting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of general accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial applications.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and research sustainability reporting requirements and peer reporting.
  • Stay current with emerging sustainability reporting regulations and assist with preparing stakeholders for new data requirements, controls, and reporting.
  • Support Halliburton in driving the education, communication, and implementation of the sustainability reporting requirements across the company.
  • Participate in multi-functional teams and work with subject matter experts across company to timely complete sustainability reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate data metric collection process including preparing and reviewing data metric workpapers to ensure completeness and accuracy for reporting.
  • Responsible for writing/reviewing process documentation, memorandums, and qualitative disclosures for reporting.
  • Perform complex reporting activities by running reports, analyzing outputs and organizing data for presentation purposes.
  • Identify gaps in processes and controls and suggest improvements when applicable.
  • Lead and support internal and external assurance.
  • Maintain timeline adherence and possess clear communication skills.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, or related roles.
  • Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles.

  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment.
  • Prior internal or external audit experience, controls, and/or experience leading assurance engagements.
