The Northwest Center @ Amazon team operates in a fast-paced and demanding corporate environment where we provide professional 5-star customer service across several program divisions. The signage installer team works in partnership with JLL to support the installation of workplace postings throughout Amazon corporate spaces in the Puget Sound region. The Signage Installer team manages requests to install signage submitted electronically via tickets by Amazon employees and vendor partners of Amazon working on the Amazon campus. The teamensures a high quality of service and customer satisfaction.

The Supervisor Signage Installer will provide operational oversight, project coordination, performance insight, and installation execution. This position assigns and oversees installation projects, ensuring effective customer communication and that installations occur on time and to quality standards. The Supervisor monitors installer workload, completion of tasks, inventory, and metrics trackers.

The Supervisor Signage Installer needs to coordinate closely with stakeholders, other vendors, requestors, and installation staff to resolve roadblocks for successful project completion. The Supervisor will need to be comfortable with providing feedback to Installers in the moment for operational efficiency and provide input to the Assistant Program Manager regarding performance of Signage Installer team. The Supervisor will be responsible for installing and maintaining signage in various locations within the Amazon corporate building. Projects will include high visibility, larger scale project, and highly technical installs.

Wage:Starting Wage$29.19 per hourFull Wage Range: $29.19 - $35.36 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate administrative personnel responsibilities for the team including but not limited to coordination of installation, ticket management, signage orders, and inventory management.
  • Review installation schedule, evaluate and prioritize requests and assign to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicates with stakeholders, vendors, and customers regarding project schedule, status and/or progress.
  • Oversee the daily activities required to complete individual or large-scale installations within established schedule.
  • Identify potential challenges or project risks. Understand the root cause of issues and associated impacts to the team or customer served. Communicate and collaborate with NWC leadership and key stakeholders to implement timely solutions.

Operational Oversight, Quality Control and Team Support

  • Oversee on-site activity for active projects and address any issues necessary to achieve quality and timeline standards.
  • Ensure signage installers abide by project guidelines; provide feedback or training to team on quality and timeliness of installations.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Program Manager to bring attention to team members’ performance and collaborate on coaching.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and audits during and post-installation to evaluate the quality of installations and effectiveness of customer support.
  • Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to ensure customer-centric interactions. Reinforce communication practices and provide guidance on customer interactions to help provide a positive experience with the customer.
  • Participate in interviewing signage installer candidates and training new team.

Installation Support

  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for assigned projects and successful task completion.
  • Provide hands-on support by installing various vinyl, adhesive, and mounted workplace postings according to installation guidelines.
  • Reviews requests and installation guidelines, determining installation requirements. Install signage according to specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Use bolts, screws, rivets, or other accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Utilize, organize, clean, and maintain essential installation tools. Maintain a neat, clean, and organized job site during installation.
  • Assist with new tasks, processes, or projects as needed to support evolving team requirements, other NWC divisions, and Amazon partners.

 

Requirements

  • 2+ years customer service, installation, or operations support
  • Proficiency with MS Windows, Excel, and Outlook e-mail
  • Understanding of installation, production, or construction environment.
  • Aptitude to measure, install, mount, and test signage components utilizing appropriate tools.
  • Trustworthy; ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on adhering to project guidelines, quality and aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Effective time management, balancing multiple projects at any given time.
  • Inclination for leadership, effective interpersonal skills, and results-oriented with a proven ability to significantly contribute to or lead operation initiatives.
  • Responds calmly and professionally to emergencies, angry customers, or other stressful situations in the workplace.
  • Exercises good judgment in areas of responsibility. Assists in identifying alternative solutions to problems or situations.
  • Display flexibility in an ever-changing environment, adapting to changes in priority and/or project requirements.

  • Be proficient and able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various installation projects in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity.
  • Manages confidentiality without exception.
  • High school diploma or GED required

 

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.
  • Will need to carry supplies to other buildings.
  • Encompasses a combination of desk work and actively visiting several Amazon buildings so the ability to walk consistently within a 1.5-mile radius is required.
  • Ability to walk up to several miles each day.
  • Ability to utilize a ladder or step-stool with proper safety training provided.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including occasional changes in schedule according to project needs. Occasional earlier or later start times, nights and weekends may arise.
