We have a great opportunity as a Summer Camp teacher at Journey School Lynnwood. Journey School Lynnwood (JSL) is looking for Summer Camp Teacher(s) / Aid(s) for our Summer Camp Program for K-3rd Grade Students. This job is June 27th - August 29th, 2025. There are more opportunities to join the JSL team before or after our Summer Camp program if interested! Duties As a part of our summer camp program, you will be out in the local community on field trips 2-3 times a week implementing outdoor education curriculum. This would be an ideal job for a college student and/or someone who has just graduated and is interested in the education, biology, social work, psychology, earth science or art fields.
JSL a Reggio-inspired, partial outdoor preschool that uses a child-lead, project-based, emergent curriculum. An ideal candidate is someone who can create and implement programming that is developmentally appropriate and integrates hands-on activities and learning. Being a partial outdoor school, our teachers must love being outdoors with kids, getting down on their level in all sorts of weather. Helping students connect to the natural environment and their surroundings is fundamental to our teaching process and approach. We also prioritize and help support our students' social emotional growth, which takes many forms, but most importantly, someone who can model positive behavior management and engagement. A candidate must demonstrate patience and flexibility in working with kids and have a sense of humor. Being a team player and calm under pressure is critical.
Requirements Required Qualifications: - Driver?s License and clean driving record ; willing to drive 15 passenger van
- Must be 18 years old or older | Summer Aids 16+
- Must have a high school diploma/GED
- Willingness to teach and learn outside in all sorts of environments and weather
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens and a negative TB test upon employment.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a DCYF criminal background check.
- Excellent Work Ethic and commitment to job requirements and time and attendance policies
Nice To Haves Desired Qualifications: - 1+ to 2 years of experience working with kids
- Age Groups: Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
- Certified Teacher, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development Associate (CDA), Early Child Development Coursework
Job Type: Full-Time M-Fri. - Must be available to work for the entirety of summer camp. Salary: $17.00 to $22.00/hour depending on experience and education.
