The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join a mission-critical platform and fleet management project for one of our clients. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineer with strong infrastructure engineering experience, capable of driving automation, scalability, and reliability at the core of modern application designs. This position requires significant hands-on experience with cloud platforms and a deep understanding of Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code principles. The Engineer will be part of the Platform Engineering team and will help architect, deploy, and monitor the developed solution.

Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain platform and fleet management frameworks to support scalable and reliable applications in a hybrid environment.
- Leverage Kubernetes-based architectures to orchestrate and manage containerized applications.
- Develop custom automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions, using Terraform and other tools, to fill gaps in existing automation processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform infrastructure is designed for resilience, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with application teams to develop and refine Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to track and improve uptime and performance metrics.
- Work on complex technical challenges that require deep expertise in cloud-native technologies and infrastructure management.
- Automate manual processes and continuously improve infrastructure for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for production issues as a representative of the Platform Engineering team.
Required Skills and Experience: - 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related role, with a focus on cloud-based environments.
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling applications.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Proficient in managing and deploying applications on Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
- Experience in writing custom code to automate and enhance infrastructure processes.
- Strong experience in building and deploying infrastructure as code in a CI/CD pipeline.
- Solid understanding of scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance in distributed systems.
- Strong working knowledge of the following technologies and tools: Kubernetes, Containers, Fleet Management, Serverless and Event-Driven Architectures, Package Management, and Service Mesh.
- Strong working knowledge of development best practices (unit test development, IDEs, documentation, etc.) including hands-on experience with a modern programming language.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Desired Skills: - Familiarity with all public cloud providers, specifically deployment of containerized applications.
- Experience in building and maintaining large-scale systems in production environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for cloud platforms and containerized applications.
- Familiarity with specific software tools: Rafay (management and deployment), Crossplane (cross-cloud control plane), Knative (serverless Kubernetes), Helm (package management), Karpenter (autoscaling), and Istio (service mesh).
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and performance tuning tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack.
