Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Our goal is to be Earth's most customer centric company, and we are just getting started. We need people who want to join an ambitious program that continues to push the state of the art in space-based systems design.

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for an excellent engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively:
• Develop/specify launch vehicle integration solutions for various launch providers.
• Design of electrical ground support equipment for Kuiper satellites.
• Develop qualification plans to validate launch vehicle and ground system integration hardware and software.
• Support occasional (10-15%) travel to launch sites and external vendors.
• Coordinate with internal customers to support production and launch campaigns.
• Lead and participate in system design and qualification reviews.
• Provide inputs and/or review to procedures for integration and test.
• Be a technical role model; instilling best practices across the full development lifecycle.

A day in the life
As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you will be a member of the launch vehicle electrical integration team, focusing on the design and deployment of launch and ground support systems. You will be expected to lead a variety of tasks such as specifying and developing launch vehicle interfaces, qualifying end-to-end launch vehicle integration and dispense systems, and developing electrical ground support hardware/racks. You will oversee external vendor and launch partner integration testing, providing technical review and feedback. Additionally, you will provide procedure review and input for our internal and external partners for vehicle integration and testing. As a senior member of the team, you will serve as a technical role model and ensure high-quality and innovative solutions are pursued.

You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple other spacecraft design and integration teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on tens of millions of people!

About the team
Our team is responsible for delivering launch vehicle integration and ground support equipment supporting Project Kuiper’s LEO satellite constellation. We take ownership and work hard to deliver the highest quality solutions to support the long-term success of Project Kuiper. This team consists of a broad set of technical backgrounds, and we look forward to welcoming people that are excited to help us deliver broadband internet to underserved communities!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in hardware development and/or hardware testing.
• Experience in specification and development of electrical systems support hardware.
• Proficiency designing and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Experience in electrical power delivery and supporting harnessing.
• Experience with network communication protocols.
