Senior DevOps Engineer Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team, specializing in cloud deployment and solutions architecture.

This role involves working closely with cloud deployment and solution architect teams to facilitate and implement effective cloud solutions using various virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies, including Azure and AWS. The ideal candidate will take charge of defining standards, managing lab environments, documenting deployment requirements, and mentoring teams on the optimal use of cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cloud deployment and solution architect teams on proof of concepts to assess customer management environments
• Establish standards and governance for deploying and operating SLB solutions using preferred VDI technology
• Oversee lab environments for purposes of testing and validation
• Formulate and support functionality, configuration, and scalability tests plans on SLB connected petrotechnical applications within selected VDI technologies
• Document test plan deployment requirements and produce deployment playbooks
• Provide training and mentorship for the cloud deployment and solution architect teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps
• Strong hands-on experience in VDI technologies with a must-have focus on Azure and AWS cloud technologies, including Azure AVD and AWS Appstream 2.0
• Solutions deployment background showcasing proficiency in Python, bash, node JS, and PowerShell scripting
• Competency in RESTful architecture security principles
• Qualifications in GitHub infrastructure as code, specifically with Terraform and SaltStack
• Proficiency in cloud services models such as IaaS, SaaS, PaaS
• Expertise in Azure DevOps CI/CD, virtualization, and container technologies
• Background in cloud infrastructure deployment including firewalls, load balancing, network switching and routing
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery, high availability systems, enterprise and cloud storage management technologies
• Knowledge of database infrastructure

Nice to have

• Skills in additional VDI technologies such as VMware and LeonStream
• Additional qualifications in GCP and AWS cloud technologies
