The Research Associate for the Boston College Clough School of Theology and Ministry (CSTM) NuevoMomento / Haciendo Caminos initiatives will provide support to the PI ofthese initiatives assuming oversight of delegated activities to ensurecompletion. The person in this grant-funded position will support the PI indesigning research protocols and executing basic research activities under theappropriate supervision. The Research Associate will workclosely with the PI for Nuevo Momento and Haciendo Caminos and the doctoralstudent who works as project manager for the Master of Arts in MinisterialLeadership and Nuevo Momento strategic planning.

The positionwill report to the PI who oversees the Nuevo Momento and Haciendo Caminos initiatives to support the PI inmanaging ongoing projects, including: 1) development of project's website; 2)development of reports; 3) coordination of regular communications with leadersof the 14 organizations that are part of the project; 4) sequencing capacitybuilding activities in light of formation programs provided by projectpartners. This person will also support research activities related to Nuevo Momento and Haciendo Caminos, assisting with IRB applications, developingprotocols, collecting data through surveys and interviews, organizing data, anddeveloping basic reports. All research work will be coordinated and supervisedby the PI for both projects.

Nuevo Momento is funded by a grant to support anational initiative to enhance organizational capacity and ministerialleadership competencies for 14 ministerial organizations serving HispanicCatholics. Haciendo Caminos is fundedby a different grant to support a national partnership led by Boston Collegeand the University of Notre Dame with 16 other Catholic universities nationwideestablished to support Hispanic/Latino Catholic students in ministerialformation programs. Both initiatives, NuevoMomento and Haciendo Caminos haveintegrated longitudinal research studies

Essential Functions
Support the PI for Nuevo Momento in managing ongoing projects associated with this grant-supported initiative. Among the projects to be managed are: 1) development of project's website; 2) development of reports; 3) coordination of regular communications with leaders of the 14 organizations that are part of the project; 4) sequencing capacity building activities in light of formation programs provided by project partners. 40%

Support research activities related to Nuevo Momento and Haciendo Caminos. Includes: assist filling out IRB applications, develop protocols, collect data through surveys and interviews, organize data, and develop basic reports. All research work will be coordinated and supervised by the PI for both projects. 60% (30% for Nuevo Momento and 30% for Haciendo Caminos)

This position

Works closely with the PI/Director and the doctoral student who works as project manager for the Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership and Nuevo Momento strategic planning delineating contours of research and reporting.
Oversees management of small projects in a collaborative environment
Conducts research exercises, collects and organizes data in a professional manner
Supports web development and maintenance for Nuevo Momento
Works with leaders of organizations that are part of Nuevo Momento to coordinate progress on activities and capacity building formation programs
Helps with communications strategies

Must be able towork under general supervision, multi-task, prioritize the workload, anddemonstrate flexibility and teamwork within a research-oriented environment.

Number of hoursa week: 35

The position isfunded by two CSTM grants: Nuevo Momento (70%) and Haciendo Caminos (30%). Fringebenefits will come from each grant-supported project using the same percentagebreakdown.

This position requires minimum a master's level degree in theology and demonstrated knowledge of Hispanic Catholic communities, traditions, organizations in the United States; the ability to conduct high-level research engaging human subjects, data processing and the ability to write professional reports; the capacity to manage small projects and bring them to completion; availability to work five days a week on campus or remotely, based on need, and to travel sporadically to support the PI of Nuevo Momento and Haciendo Caminos as well as the Nuevo Momento team to meetings and activities associated with the projects.
