We are currently seeking a Publicity Assistant to join the Random House Group publicity team and support campaigns for media-driven fiction and nonfiction books across the Ballantine Group imprints, including Ballantine, Bantam, Dell/Delacorte. At BBD, we publish books that entertain, inform, and inspire readers. This position provides an intensive education in trade book publishing in a fast-paced, exciting, and highly collaborative environment. The Publicity Assistant role is the ideal position for a curious, confident, self-motivated person who loves books across genres, understands and consumes media, and is interested in learning how to execute publicity strategy.
Specific responsibilities include:
Assistance in creating and executing high-impact publicity campaigns for top titles spanning genres such as commercial/book club fiction, mystery/thriller/suspense, rom-com/romantasy, literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and celebrity. The salary for this position is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
