Job Title: Production Manager Location: Macon, GA
Job Summary: Seeking a highly experienced Plant Production Manager for a facility in Macon, GA. This critical leadership role involves overseeing all production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Production Manager will be responsible for supervising four direct-report supervisors and overseeing 160 indirect reports. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure smooth operations across multiple production lines, including six molders, hot presses, and printers, primarily working with molded fibers, egg cartons, and molded presses. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven decision-making, using SAP ERP to track and optimize production metrics and spearhead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Manage four direct-report supervisors and oversee 160 indirect reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to maintain smooth production operations.
- Monitor and manage customer changeovers and line adjustments across multiple production lines.
- Utilize SAP ERP for data analysis, production tracking, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve production metrics and operational efficiency.
Must-Have Qualifications: - 10+ years of management experience in a high-volume, high-speed production environment.
- MRP/ERP experience, preferably SAP.
- Strong Continuous Improvement experience with a proven track record of implementing successful projects.
- Experience analyzing data and improving efficiencies using Excel and ERP systems.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Associate's degree (strongly preferred).
- Industry experience in food packaging, packaging, or plastics manufacturing.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- Experience with molders, hot presses, or printers.
Ideal Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate comes from a high-volume, high-speed manufacturing background (e.g., consumer goods, automotive, injection molding, blow molding, bottling, pulp and paper, or medical device industries) with experience in plant or general management. A strong continuous improvement mindset with the ability to implement and measure successful operational changes is essential.
