Global producer of polyurethane foam materials seek a Process Engineer for the Greensboro, NC plant!
SUMMARY: The primary function of the Pourline Process Engineer to support the Pourl ine Process Manager in their eff orts to oversee day-to-day production from a process perspective. Including but not limited to modifying the production schedule to optimize yield, ensure overall process health through maintenance and daily process checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONS IBILITIES include the following:
Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required. See JSA & PDA for this position for details safety instructions.
Understand ISO 9001 requirements / Olympic Quality Policy. Always follow work instructions and procedures as established through the company's Quality Policy.
Modify existing reporting systems for new methods, new material specifications and new products
Create new machinery and process systems
Implement process improvements
Write an d update procedures
Train personnel
Develop and modify foam formulations that meet customer and organization expectations
Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
Cross train in other positions as require d.
Other duties may be assigned as needed by the employee’s supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct supervisory responsibilities are limited. Example is covering for vacations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or at least 2+ years manufacturing experience, preferably some in the polymer industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such a s safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
The mathematical skills required are those that come with an engineering degree. Including but not limited to university level algebra, transport, heat transfer and fluid flow phenomena. Manipulation of production numbers to calculate yields, usages, and various other process indicators.
REASONING ABILITY:
A strict logical approach to problem s olving and decision making that is based on facts and verifiable figures. This must extend to higher engineering theory and practice.

WORK SCHEDUL E:
Standard work hours will consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift.
Schedule hours may be altered as required by business conditions. This may be more (or less) than eight hours per day or five days per week. An ability t o work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays is essential for this position.
EQUIPMENT USED:
The tools and equipment used vary from the pour line itself to small hand tools to a PC loaded with Microsoft Office.
