We are looking for a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic and innovative virtual learning team. This fully remote position offers the chance to positively impact students' lives, all while working from the comfort of your own home.
Position Overview
As a Virtual Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. You'll have the opportunity to create meaningful and engaging educational experiences while utilizing online platforms to provide the support and resources each student requires to succeed. We're seeking a dedicated educator who is skilled in virtual instruction and comfortable with technology.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Deliver Instruction: Create and deliver engaging, customized lessons through virtual platforms, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met.
Develop & Implement IEPs: Write, update, and maintain IEPs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with general education teachers to ensure the proper accommodations and modifications are in place for students.
Track Student Progress: Keep detailed records of student achievements and challenges, monitoring their academic growth regularly.
Engage with Families: Lead virtual meetings with parents and guardians to discuss progress, provide insights into learning strategies, and offer guidance on supporting student development at home.
Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development, team meetings, and collaborative discussions to stay current with best practices in education and special education.
What You'll Need
A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
A valid teaching license in Special Education, with endorsement for North Carolina.
At least 2 years of teaching experience in a classroom setting.
Experience using virtual learning platforms and educational technology to engage students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
A proven track record of developing and implementing IEPs that meet the individual needs of students.
Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative and supportive role within a remote team.
