Responsibilities:Position Summary:
The Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in neonatal intensive care nursing. The Neonatal CNS assesses the needs of patients and family units within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and assists in the planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care. CNS is an expert practitioner whose goal is to realize optimum quality nursing practice through direct patient care, clinical staff development, consultation, and research. The CNS coordinates and guides clinical activities/projects of nurses within a practice area. The CNS is accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies. The Neonatal CNS must be familiar with and adhere to Regulatory Standards and UCI Health-Fountain Valley Policies and Procedure. (#Women&Childrencareers2025)
