The Opportunity
We are looking for a Manager, Life/Health/Retirement Income to lead our team of specialists within the Life Company Retirement Income Team. In this role, you will manage a team dedicated to understanding our members' needs and providing them with tailored solutions. As a leader, you will motivate your team to achieve their goals and support their growth through regular coaching and feedback, while implementing process improvements and ensuring compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements.
This role offers a flexible work environment that requires a presence in the office 4 days per week. The position will be based in San Antonio, TX, and relocation assistance is not available.
What You'll Do:
Lead and develop a team by recruiting, coaching, retaining, and managing performance.
Ensure your team understands how their work contributes to organizational goals.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve operations in Life, Health, or Retirement Income services.
Implement and monitor processes, ensuring performance standards are met.
Provide feedback to improve processes and collaborate with product owners.
Remove obstacles and champion necessary changes to enhance performance.
Optimize productivity by managing workload volumes, staffing, and training needs.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technology changes, and regulations that impact the business, and share this knowledge with the team.
Develop and enhance operational tools, workflows, and systems.
May assist in responding to regulatory inquiries and audits with support from compliance teams.
Address and resolve executive complaints as necessary.
Ensure effective identification, monitoring, and control of risks associated with business activities, in line with risk and compliance policies.
What You Have:
A Bachelor's degree, or a total of 10 years of experience, including related experience (in lieu of a degree).
The ability to obtain Life/Health licenses and necessary Carrier appointments within 90 days of joining (if required).
For Retirement Income roles, the ability to maintain or obtain FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53) licenses within 90 days.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in financial services operations, including process improvement.
At least 2 years of team lead or management experience, with a proven ability to coach and develop staff.
Knowledge of financial products and services related to life or health insurance or retirement income.
What Sets You Apart:
Military experience or experience as a military spouse/domestic partner.
Active FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53) certifications.
Life and Health (Group 1) license.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ (CFP®) designation.
RICP (Retirement Income Certified Professional) designation.
3+ years of direct management experience in the financial services industry.
Experience with Life, Health, or Retirement Income products.
Experience in managing or working within a call center environment.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer competitive salaries based on experience and market data. The salary range for this position is $85,040 - $153,080, and eligibility for pay incentives may be available based on individual and corporate performance.
