Position Summary

Responsible for washing the departments glassware, autoclave dry ware, liquids, biohazard waste and taking care of departmental mail.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collects glassware from labs.
• Loads into washer, wash, dry and wrap with saran wrap.
• Washes and dries by hand all plasticware.
• Separates to autoclave dry ware.
• Returns to labs and place on shelves.
• Washes, dries, plugs and autoclaves pipettes from each lab.
• Maintains stock for labs.
• Autoclaves liquids and biohazard waste from labs.
• Cleans ISO 7 Clean rooms following standard operating procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Requires ability to use good judgment with hazardous and potentially hazardous materials.

Physical Effort

• Requires ability to routinely lift 50-90 pounds.

Salary Range

$16.27 - $20.83 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
