Job Description

Are you a truck driver that is tired of being treated like a number? Do you want dispatchers that have been former drivers and understand what it is that you go through daily? Are you looking for a small, family-owned company with national accounts and 35 years of proven stability?

If you answered “YES” to the above questions, then Neier is the company for you!

Neier is a trucking company located on the southwest side of Indianapolis, IN. We started operations in 1989 and remain family owned and operated.

We are licensed to run in all 48 states and are seeking Owner/Operators to help fulfill our growing customer needs. Depending on your location, Neier offers Regional and OTR driving positions. Regional drivers can anticipate weekly home-time, while OTR drivers can anticipate monthly.

Benefits

  • 70% OF LINE HAUL
Our lanes are all quoted round trip, so you are compensated for all of your running miles. In addition to your Line Haul percentage, you will receive 100% of the Fuel Surcharge.
  • STEADY WORK & PAID DEMURRAGE
Being in the business since 1989 has allowed Neier to establish a diversified group of customers that allow us to offer a steady work load to all of our drivers year-round. Being part of the Hazardous Waste Transportation Industry, our drivers can expect to run lanes for a core group of customers and encounter minimal time at large warehouse facilities. The majority of our work is drop & hook or customer load/unload. That being said, we do encounter occasional customer delays and have demurrage rates built into customer contracts.
  • PAID ORIENTATION & TRAINING
During the application process, you will speak with the Director of Human Resources as well as the Director of Transportation. Both individuals will be able to provide you with specific details about company operations; what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Our goal is for up-front honest communication with true and achievable expectations. After hired, drivers can expect to have access to each of these individuals to discuss any questions or concerns that might arise.
Once the official offer has been extended and accepted, you will be scheduled for orientation here at the Neier terminal in Indianapolis, IN. During this time you will sign your Independent Contractor Agreement. Our orientation & training periods are unique in that we offer individual orientations and do not require our Owner/Operators to be part of a large hiring pool. This allows for a more personalized approach, individual attention, and a better assessment of each driver’s individual skills. We understand that you are experienced professional drivers. Our goal is to have you on the road, running solo, as safely and quickly as possible. Most of our experienced Owner/Operators can anticipate running solo within a week. During your training period you are not team driving. You will be dispatched on out and back day runs and will be generating revenue with your truck.
  • SIGN-ON BONUS
Neier provides a sign-on bonus that is issued in a one-lump-sum payout.
  • FUEL PURCHASING
Our Owner/Operators can take advantage of the fuel island here at the Neier terminal. They can also take advantage of our discounted buying power at TA & Petro locations throughout the United States.
  • PEOPLENET ELD SYSTEMS
Neier will provide your PeopleNet ELD. Our shop will work with you throughout the installation process.

Requirements

  • 2 Years Verifiable Class A CDL Truck Driving Experience.
  • Class A CDL with Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must be able to meet all insurance requirements and carry insurance policies as outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement.
  • Truck must pass an Inspection conducted by the Neier Maintenance Shop prior to being accepted into the fleet.
