Job Description

Monsieur is a  nightlife venue and  cocktail bar from Golden Age Hospitality , the team behind Acme, The Happiest Hour, The Nines, Le Dive, and Deux Chats. Monsieur is a decadent late-night escape - created in collaboration with Baz Luhrmann - an opulent, high-energy playground built for nights that blur into morning.

We’re seeking a floor-forward  General Manager with a nightlife mindset - someone who understands the rhythm of a late-night room and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume bar setting. You should be passionate about crafting memorable guest experiences, have a proven ability to manage teams in dynamic environments, and bring a cool, confident presence to the floor, especially on busy weekend nights.

The role is focused on bar operations, team leadership, and the flow of the night. You'll be a key player in building a high-functioning, hospitality-driven team, maintaining strong systems, and keeping the vibe just right from the first drink of the evening to last call.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating an exceptional guest experience by building genuine relationships and developing a base of regulars.

  • Actively coaching and supporting staff through high-volume, high-pressure service while leading by example.

  • Overseeing bar operations with an eye toward consistency, speed, and quality in cocktail execution.

  • Partnering with the nightlife director and operations team to manage the room in real time and align nightly operations with business goals.

  • Recruiting, hiring, and developing a confident, capable front-of-house team that reflects the energy and values of the space.

  • Creating weekly schedules that support strong service and meet labor targets.

  • Maintaining clean, stylish, and functional spaces by coordinating with the facilities team and vendors.

  • Supporting the bar team in inventory, prep, ordering, and maintaining par levels.

  • Collaborating with the events team to ensure seamless execution of buyouts and group bookings.

  • Leading weekly manager meetings that align the team on service standards and goals.

  • Handling guest and team concerns with professionalism, empathy, and tact.

  • Working independently and collaboratively to keep the night moving and the energy high.

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years of management experience in a fast-paced nightlife, cocktail bar, or hospitality setting

  • Strong floor presence and high emotional intelligence

  • Hands-on operational knowledge and familiarity with back-of-house systems

  • Working knowledge of spirits and cocktails

  • Experience with platforms like Toast, 7Shifts, Resy, Google Suite, Tripleseat, and Slack

  • Flexible availability, including late nights and weekends

  • Ability to work an average of 50 hours per week

  • Experience managing a nightlife door is a plus, but not required
