Bar Bianchi , the Milanese aperitivo bar and restaurant in the East Village from Golden Age Hospitality (the team behind The Nines, Le Dive, Deux Chats, and more), is seeking a hospitality-driven General Manager to join our team. Bar Bianchi focuses on traditional Italian dishes, spritzes, and Negroni variations, all served in a lively, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is eager to jump into all aspects of service and operations and thrives in a bustling setting. We are looking for someone with a track record of creating outstanding guest experiences across both food and high-volume bar service. Exceptional organizational and operational skills are essential, as is the ability to manage systems while maintaining a warm, efficient floor presence. Strong people-management skills are also key, including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while fostering a positive and professional work culture. A solid knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and natural wines is a plus.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Creating excellent guest experiences by building genuine relationships and developing a base of regulars.
Supporting, empowering, and holding the team accountable to deliver exceptional service. Actively coaching staff through busy services and participating in service at all levels.
Collaborating with kitchen and bar teams to ensure consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality that aligns with company values.
Partnering with the reservations and maître d’ teams to align reservation strategies with business needs.
Recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a strong team, while managing performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when necessary. Creating schedules that meet labor targets while supporting an excellent guest experience.
Overseeing venue maintenance, communicating repair and maintenance needs to the facilities team, and coordinating with vendors and engineers.
Managing inventory and ordering of service wares, and supporting the bar team in monitoring prep and maintaining par levels.
Coordinating with the events department to execute private events and large group bookings seamlessly.
Leading engaging and educational staff meetings, creating clear agendas to align management and the corporate team.
Handling challenging guest situations with patience, empathy, and tact, while also resolving conflicts within the team professionally.
Working independently and collaboratively, balancing team and individual responsibilities to support the overall success of the business.
Position Requirements:
At least 3 years of management experience in a fast-paced restaurant or bar setting
Strong operational knowledge and a hands-on approach to restaurant systems
Familiarity with wines, spirits, and cocktails
Experience with platforms like Toast, 7Shifts, Resy, Google Suite, Tripleseat, and Slack
Flexible availability for both opening and closing shifts, averaging 50 hours per week, with consistent weekend (including Sunday) availability required
