The Evening Circulation & Reserves Coordinator (ECRC) supervises all library operations and provides directional assistance and basic and limited reference service during evenings and Sundays. The ECRC is also responsible for the day-to-day processing and maintenance of class reserves for all UCLA Law School classes. Major duties include: Assisting patrons at the Circulation Desk and providing basic and limited reference services; assists supervising full-time guards and student Community Service Officers (CSOs) on duty at the access control point and assisting with supervising Student Circulation & Stacks Supervisors; processing all reserves; providing billing and departmental support; ensuring that full and proper communication occurs between the various evening and Sunday shifts and between the day and evening shifts; multiple duties are performed simultaneously while at the Circulation Desk. The ECRC is the primary supervisor of the library during the evening and on Sunday (Sunday 10am-7pm and Monday-Thursday 1pm - 10pm). Hours may vary to support operational needs, and during finals and intersession. While scheduled on the circulation desk, helping library users is the first priority; however, the supervisor is expected to handle "non-desk" responsibilities while on the desk as is practical and as time permits. Under the general direction of the Circulation, Reserves, and Stacks Manager (CRSM) the Evening Circulation Coordinator organizes and performs duties to ensure even workflow, prompt completion of assignments and reliable access to all library circulation services and reserves resources. The Evening Circulation and Reserves Coordinator uses independent judgment to resolve or suggest solutions to unusual problems or unique projects, providing appropriate analysis and documentation; occasionally consults with supervisor. The ECRC is a contributing member of the Student Managers Group and participates in all aspects of hiring and training Student Circulation & Stacks Supervisors.
