Job Title: EDI Developer
Compensation Expectations: $85,000 – 115,000 DOE
Role Location: Tampa, FL or remote

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The EDI Developer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions. This position requires expertise in healthcare-related X12 EDI transactions, particularly 834 (enrollment) and 837 (claims). The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in SQL, Java, and .NET to build and maintain integration processes that ensure smooth data exchanges with partners and clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:  
  • Design, develop, and maintain EDI solutions for X12 transactions (e.g., 834, 837).
  • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and support integrations between various internal and external systems using Java and .NET frameworks.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support data processing and reporting needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data exchanges.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure system compatibility and data consistency.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive records of system modifications.
  • Monitor EDI transaction processing and address errors promptly.
  • Assist with system upgrades, testing, and deployment of new solutions.
  • Remain current on trends and industry knowledge establishing self as subject matter expert

WHAT DO YOU NEED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in developing EDI solutions in the healthcare industry, specifically with X12 834 and 837 transactions.
  • Proficiency in SQL for complex queries, data extraction, and manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with Java and .NET development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards, HIPAA compliance, and related regulations.
  • Experience with EDI mapping tools and transaction validation.
