Overview:

Position Expectations:  

Soltage is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Paralegal to join our growing legal department. This role is essential for streamlining legal workstreams, managing full contract lifecycles, overseeing budgets and spending on outside counsel and other vendors, and fostering cross-functional communication with other Company departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in a legal setting, strong multitasking abilities, and proficiency with legal research and document management systems. 

Specific Job Functions:  

  • Assist in streamlining processes within the legal department to enhance efficiency in Company operations, including oversight of document management systems and other legal software programs. 
  • Coordinate with other departments to track, manage, and organize contracts from proposal stage through execution. 
  • Develop and support Company risk management initiatives in compliance with internal policies and legal regulations. 
  • Assist with formatting, redlining, compiling, and managing complex contract documents and other deliverables for internal and external use. 
  • Oversee legal budgets, track spending, and handle invoicing matters with third-party vendors, including outside legal counsel. 
  • Monitor the performance of external legal vendors and manage relationships to ensure cost-efficiency and high service quality. 
  • Research and build knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws pertaining to developing, owning, and operating renewable energy projects in various U.S. markets. 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a law firm, legal department, or legal operations setting. 
  • Demonstrated interest in legal operations management and renewable energy law. 
  • Knowledge and experience in selecting implementing and managing document management systems and other legal software. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal departments and external vendors. 
  • Experience working with outside legal counsel and managing external vendors. 
  • Basic understanding of legal terminology and contract law. 
  • High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
