We are looking for passionate and experienced individuals who are ready to inspire the next generation of tech enthusiasts. As a Coding Instructor, you'll play a key role in helping K-12 students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence, all while learning to code and create.
About the Role
In this role, you'll be delivering both live in-person and virtual coding instruction using our curriculum and tools. You will work directly with students, ensuring they feel supported and engaged in their learning journey. Your responsibilities will include creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment, assessing student progress, and collaborating with a talented team of educators to improve our curriculum and teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach coding using our structured curriculum and resources in both in-person and virtual settings
Maintain a professional, encouraging, and approachable demeanor when interacting with students
Foster a fun and engaging learning environment to ensure positive outcomes for every student
Plan and implement supplementary educational activities that align with curriculum objectives
Provide individualized instruction to enhance student engagement and understanding
Encourage critical thinking, participation, and discussions among students
Track student attendance and behavior, ensuring they remain on track with the course material
Regularly evaluate and report on student progress
Continuously expand your knowledge across our course offerings
Identify opportunities to improve the curriculum and share feedback
Participate in planning meetings and collaborate with fellow instructors and team members
About You:
You'll thrive in this role if you bring the following:
Recent teaching experience in computer science or coding, whether in formal or informal settings
Hands-on experience with web development, particularly HTML and CSS
Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages such as Python, C#, Swift, Kotlin, or JavaScript
Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner
Knowledge of current industry trends and the ability to present these concepts to beginners
Comfortable using collaboration and communication tools like Google Docs, Gmail, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
An openness to experimenting with new formats and approaches to teaching
A collaborative mindset and willingness to jump in wherever needed, big or small
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
A passion for learning, growing, and tackling challenges
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points:

An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
Certification as a Teacher or experience in an educational setting
Professional experience in software engineering or development
Background in a startup or non-profit environment
Previous experience working remotely
