Job Description



BAE Systems, is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated and proficient Junior-Level Combat Systems
Production Engineer to join our team at the NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO) in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate will provide engineering, engineering management, and programmatic support to the N-20 Fleet Support Division. This role is integral to the continuous improvement and maintenance of combat systems, specifically the NATO Seasparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS). The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and addressing system configuration changes and ensuring the proper documentation and tracking of system updates for fleet implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and manage Ship Change Documents (SCDs) for updates or new hardware integration intended for the fleet.
  • Collaborate with the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for NSSMS on implementing changes and updates to combat systems.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and provide necessary updates to Configuration Management (CM) documentation and Life Cycle Support Plans (LCSP) as required by project needs.
  • Oversee all NSSMS Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and assist in the preparation for Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, whether internal or external to the organization.
  • Accurately update, track, and maintain a comprehensive record of SCDs for all NSSMS-equipped vessels.
  • Provide support to Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) and Yorktown (YT) depot planning activities related to combat systems.
  • Assist in the development and management of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for material planning at TYAD and YT depots.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field .
  • Demonstrated experience in configuration management processes within a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software change control practices.
  • Active Secret U.S. government security clearance.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite software products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an International team environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Prior experience in a configuration management role within a defense contracting company.
  • Knowledge of US Navy systems and operational requirements.
  • Experience in the defense industry, especially related to naval combat systems.
  • Knowledge of NSSMS or similar combat systems.
  • Familiarity with configuration management principles and lifecycle support planning .

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $61820 - $105050

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
