CLINICAL FACULTY IN APPLIED EVENT MANAGEMENT

The Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality (NYU SPS) is seeking a dynamic and engaged candidate for a position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to begin in September 2025. The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position will provide service to our undergraduate and graduate programs, with a specific focus on event management operations and production . Candidates can be from any industrial or disciplinary field and should have at least five years of experience in professional event production. We seek faculty candidates who have experience working with a diverse base of professionals and teaching a diverse population of students, including first generation students, and those from diverse linguistic, cultural, racial and ethnic groups around the world. This full-time position is a nine-month appointment with a two-year renewable faculty contract. (The rank of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.)
Prior teaching experience is desirable, as are candidates who can bring their professional networks into their teaching and practice. In addition to teaching, faculty members advise students, organize departmental activities, participate in curriculum planning and evaluation, and nurture industry relationships.
In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $135,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate?s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
The Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality brings together industry leaders, students, and communities of practice together through curriculum and programming in hospitality, tourism, and event management. Top-level coursework and rigorous study are complemented by seminars, conferences, and programs that put students in direct contact with industry leaders. NYU?s students and faculty are globally minded and locally situated, contributing to the vitality and dynamism of New York City. The Tisch Center organizes the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, which generates scholarship support for our master´s students. The Tisch Center has recently inaugurated the Hospitality Innovation Hub, a dynamic space for experiential learning, prototyping, and innovation that also hosts the Travel and Tourism Research Collaboratory.

Professional Experience: The successful applicant will possess evidence of professional distinction, industry experience, and appropriate academic credentials. An advanced degree (terminal in their field or discipline) is required. Candidates must have at least three years of academic experience and effectiveness in higher education.
