Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead our medical team in providing exceptional patient care. In this role, you will collaborate with executive leadership to shape and implement clinical strategies that improve health outcomes, enhance patient engagement, and support overall wellness. You will oversee a dedicated team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals while ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a clinical spokesperson, representing the organization's mission and values to stakeholders and the community.
Provide strategic leadership in areas such as population health management, clinician engagement, and quality improvement.
Oversee the medical teams' utilization management and patient engagement strategies.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and best practices.
Collaborate with leadership to develop and optimize electronic health records (EHR) and IT systems.
Guide the organization in maintaining and advancing its status as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
Participate in training, continuing education, and industry events to stay updated on best practices.
Perform patient consultations, medical examinations, and procedures in accordance with issued privileges.
Provide referrals for secondary and tertiary care as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patient interactions.
Foster strong relationships with partners, community organizations, and healthcare networks.
What We're Looking For
MD or DO license to practice in Massachusetts.
DEA and State Controlled Substance certification.
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
Preference for candidates with experience in public health, community clinics, or previous roles as a Medical Director.
Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine is highly desirable.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
Strong business acumen with knowledge of budgets, financial statements, and strategic planning.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
Ability to meet and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
