Position Title: Campground Maintenance/Landscaping Worker
Department: Campground
Report To: Campground / Vacation Rental Supervisor/General Manager
Wage: $ 16.50 DOE
Position Summary: Provide a full range of maintenance and repair services for both the Havasu Landing Campground and Vacation Rental properties. The General Maintenance/Landscaping Worker conducts general maintenance, repairs, and landscaping to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and various utility systems. The General Maintenance/Landscaping Worker provides excellent customer service to prospective and current guests at all times, and may assist with site setups to ensure timely arrivals and departures of guests.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Maintain campground landscape and related tasks including planting, irrigation, trimming, pruning, cultivating, fertilizing, painting and general maintenance throughout campground areas.
- Perform daily janitorial services that include, but not limited to, cleaning bathrooms, laundry room, campground offices, supply rooms, as well as cleaning campsites and beaches.
- Manage all campground trash services along with the upkeep of all campground facilities which includes cleaning, painting and minor repairs to Resort Owned Vacation Rentals.
- May be required to operate heavy equipment including a backhoe and landscape related vehicles.
- Make minor electrical and plumbing repairs in campground or any of the Resort’s vacation rentals when needed.
- Perform pull and place of trailers, RV’s and launching of watercraft when needed.
- Willing to work any shifts as needed to ensure the operation of the Campground this includes evenings, weekends, and Holidays.
- Available for emergency on-call work at any time.
- May give work direction to any seasonal staff assigned
- Prioritize projects and work with little supervision.
- Must be able to perform any and all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: - Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment/tractor and other vehicles safely.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer relations skills required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of experience in general maintenance with an emphasis on landscaping.
- Electrical and plumbing background preferred.
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment/ tractor and vehicles is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of safety (OSHA) regulations preferred.
Physical: - Frequent standing, walking, bending, and grasping.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination is required
- Must be able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to withstand dust, pollens and gas fumes on a regular basis.
- Must have the ability to work outside in extreme heat and/or cold temperatures for a full 8 hour day.
