Job Description

The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa located on the tropical Sanibel Island is currently seeking full time Baristas  to join our growing team! We are looking for individuals passionate about providing excellent customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.

Essential Functions:

  • Make all drink recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards maintains a guest focus while performing duties
  • Prepare all food offerings to the highest standards and adhere to all recipes and guidelines
  • Provide guests information on our products and services, by developing an understanding of our various types of coffee, food, beverage and retail.
  • Ensures and is accountable for profitability of the department by growing sales and controlling costs of goods, inventory levels, labor, supplies and expenses.
  • Able to perform all POS duties, front and back of house functions including opening and closing procedures
  • Helps maintain a clean well-merchandised department, following visual presentation plans and standards.
  • Communicates all sales promotions and new product information effectively and efficiently.
  • Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies and any team member or customer incidents
  • Enter payments into the micros system immediately.
  • Ensure a balance of the register at the end of the shift or working period
  • Ensure safe food handling procedures are being followed.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant and resort functions and services
  • Perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignment
  • Maintain clean and stocked Marketplace for guests use.
  • Responsibilities also include filing orders, receiving money, and carrying out suggestive selling while managing all cash issued and received during the shift.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • Attends all scheduled team member meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Follows all resort policies and state laws in serving alcohol beverages.
  • Attend all quarterly alcohol compliance training.
  • Notify manager-on-duty any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
  • Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department
  • Be familiar with resort services, amenities, and outlets
  • Available for work assignments outside of associate's customary work schedule. This may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Adherence to all safety rules and regulations
  • Compliance with all resort policies and procedures and described and communicated by management

  • Good organization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and as part of a team
  • Cash handling experience
