SULLIVAN STREET BAKERY BAKER

Sullivan Street Bakery is a 24/7 large-scale production bakery with the capabilities to bake 400 loaves of bread at one time. In just one 8 hour long shift we will produce 1500 pounds of dough! Sullivan Street Bakery is looking for a passionate, talented, and organized baker who is extremely reliable, with strong attention to detail, and used to working in a fast-paced environment.

Be familiar with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens and dough sheeters.

Understand food safety practices

Commit to creating artisanal, consistent, high-quality products while achieving large production quantities.

Capability to clearly communicate with your supervisor when there are concerns that these expectations are not met.

Baker Requirements and Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a baker preparation position
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Good work ethic, communication, and time management skills
• Stamina to shape hundreds of breads per shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting

Baker Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow existing recipes
• Measure, weigh and prepare ingredients
• Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as needed
• Shape hundreds to thousands of breads per shift
• Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment
• Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards
• Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools
• Monitor items during baking
