Job Description



AECOM  is seeking an  Architectural Designer  to be based in either the Washington DC or Arlington, VA office.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
  • Preparing detailed specifications, reports, and related data tables for project documentation.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required, ensuring adherence to project standards and client requirements.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, performing technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinating technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and departments participating on assigned projects.
  • Assisting in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • Participating in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and progress.
  • Conducting site visits to gather information, assess existing conditions, and monitor construction progress.
  • Researching and recommending sustainable design solutions and materials to meet project goals and environmental standards.
  • Utilizing 3D modeling and visualization software to create compelling presentations and design studies.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other consultants to integrate building systems into the overall design.
  • Staying current with industry trends, building codes, and regulations to ensure compliance in all design work.
  • Contributing to the development of project proposals and fee estimates for potential new projects.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience from an accredited university.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

:

  • Excellent working knowledge of BIM-Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Sketchup, and Enscape.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
